DMK Chief karunanidhi and five-time Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi breathed his last at the Kauvery hospital in Chennai on Tuesday after a 11-day health battle. He was  at 94. 

According to doctors the time of karunanidhi death was 6.10 pm and the reason behind the death of DMK Chief due to multi-organ failure.



DMK patriarch and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi is extremely critical and unstable, atlast he passed away today in chennai hospital.

Karunanidhi, who was popularly referred to as Kalaignar (actor) was admitted to the hospital on July 28. 

He served many times DMK Treasurer and also Cabinet Minister in Tamil Nadu Goverment formed. 

When Indira Gandhi announced the Emergency in 1975, among the few Chief Ministers of the country who opposed her was Tamil Nadu’s Muthuvel Karunanidhi.

He was 94, a Dravidian patriarch who brought drama and poetry to Tamil Nadu politics. He made welfare politics electorally profitable & power battles legendary. 

Political Carrer in Tamil Nadu:

Muthuvel Karunanidhi, popularly known as Kalaignar, was an Indian politician who served as the chief minister of the state of Tamil Nadu for five separate terms in the 1969–2011 period.

Karunanidhi was born on June 3, 1924 at Thirukkuvalai in erstwhile Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.
